Ahhhh thank you for sharing that LD. It's not easy opening up wounds for the world to see, but I totally TOTALLY relate to what you are saying here - and I'm so sorry you have been through the wringer emotionally. There is pressure sometimes to enjoy a new place - but no one size fits all and there is nothing wrong with admitting 'nup - it aint for me'. And YES! Have been there, I know the feeling well. I'm excited to hear about your next adventure. Selfishly hoping its London so I get to meet you!!! :)
I can relate. You Montreal was my Seattle. I never for a second regretted moving back to Southern California. Turns out my soul needed the sun. And I believe, for so many of the reasons you described, leaving is the bravest thing you can do. It absolutely counts as self care.
Speaking of self care, I love that you have set Monday evenings aside for it. Such a good idea!
Wow you really captured what it feels like to be out of place. I lived in Vancouver for 4 years and remember feeling like... life was elsewere. And I was missing out on it. Moved back to France, it was hard but best decision ever! Best of luck on your move ☀️
